I provide a wide range of services here at Not Too Shabby to suit customers individual needs. Whether it be a simple paint job, a bit of upholstery or something a little more unusual, I can work with you to produce something beautiful and truly unique.
Viewings and consultations are by appointment and can be arranged via email or phone. I am based in Bonnybridge which is easily accessible to many places in Central Scotland.
what we do

This is by far my most popular service. Do you perhaps have an old piece of furniture that you have inherited or has been a potential project of your own that you just haven't had time to start? Maybe some good quality pine that doesn't match your decor any longer? ENTER CLAIRE!! (That's me).
I will take your existing furniture and chat through your ideas and desired colour theme to bring your piece(s) bang up to date at a fraction of the price of buying new. You can choose a shade straight from the Annie Sloan colour chart or I can mix a bespoke shade for you to really nail the overall finish you are looking for.

If you're looking for something a bit different on a piece of furniture then this is the way to go. Any wallpaper can be used and I also order full murals that make for stunning statement pieces. It's a little more costly as there is a lot of work involved in getting such a precise finish but it's absolutely worth it when you see the finished result.

This is extremely handy for those of you who know what you are looking for but either can't seem to find it or don't have the time/means necessary to scour charity shops or Gumtree!
I can take note of which item(s) of furniture you are looking for, along with any size restrictions you may have and keep an eye out until I find something suitable for your specific needs. At that point we would discuss colours and finishes to get you the perfect piece of furniture for your home.

One of my favourite things to do is make bottle lamps, gin proving most popular but I can use any bottle and have also done rum, whiskey, vodka and prosecco in the past. Shades come plain as standard or I also do handmade shades in any fabric.
I use two different kinds of electrical parts depending on your budget. The standard parts are white plastic with the cable coming from the top/outside of the bottle and the more expensive parts are metal with the cable coming through a small hole in the back/bottom of the bottle. Both are fully compliant with electrical safety.
Prices start from £33 with a shade or from £25 without.

I do provide upholstery work on smaller jobs such as stools or seat pads, however, I am not qualified in doing larger, more complex upholstery work.
For this, I do outsource to a local company who specialise in upholstery and re-covering all sorts of items from chairs to full sofas - they are very good at what they do.
I would get a quote for any work from them before going ahead on any work on your behalf.
